Cost Comparison

blog July 3

So how do near record low interest rates affect the affordability of housing?  Well, my friend Shawn Huss from First Place Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio sent me the below comparison chart which tells the story.  Click Here for the full repot.

The chart compares purchasing power of 1981 with purchasing power in 2013.  Many of today’s home buyers were not eve alive in 1981, let alone buying a home.  So even if you were not around in 1981, you can still take advantage of the “Good old Days”.

I have been saying for months that this is a great time to buy a home, and the comparison chart seems to back that up.  Even though rates just ticked up a bit, the time is still right to make that purchase.
